Bronx man charged with attempted murder for assault on police precinct

A Bronx man who allegedly ambushed two NYPD officers on patrol and attacked the 41st Precinct station house in two separate incidents has been indicted on attempted murder and other charges, according to the Bronx District Attorney’s Office. 

Robert Williams, 45, was arraigned on multiple attempted murder, assault, and weapons charges before Bronx Supreme Court Justice George Villegas on March 4, 2020.

Long Island man sentenced to prison for stealing $1 million Brooklyn brownstone

A Long Island man who forged a deed in order to steal a vacant brownstone building from an elderly homeowner has been sentenced to one-and-a-half to four-and-a-half years in prison, according to the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office. 

Craig Hecht, 52, of Mount Sinai, New York, pled guilty to second-degree grand larceny and second-degree money laundering in December 2019. 

He was facing up to 15 years in prison.

Three men sentenced for stealing armored car on Long Island

A former armored car driver and two accomplices who stole $510,000 from an armored car on Long Island in November 2018 have been sentenced to prison.

On February 19, 2020, Alexis Laguerra, Raymond Soto Jr., and Raymond Soto Sr. were sentenced to 30 months, 33 months, and 18 months in prison, respectively.

U.S. District Judge Sandra Feuerstein also ordered the defendants to forfeit $300,000 and pay restitution of $510,000 to the armored car company.

Lithuanian man sentenced to 5 years in prison for participating in business email compromise scam

On December 19, the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s Office announced that Evaldas Rimasauskas, 51, of Vilnius, Lithuania, had been sentenced to 5 years in prison for his role in a business email compromise scam. He will be removed from the U.S. to Lithuania upon his release.

U.S. District Judge George Daniels ordered Rimasauskas to pay restitution of $26,479,079.24. He did not impose any fine. Rimasauskas previously agreed to forfeit $49,738,559.41 to the government.

CBL/BFL enforcer pleads guilty to racketeering conspiracy involving murder

An enforcer for a Buffalo street gang who was involved in several shootings, a murder, and drug crimes has pleaded guilty to two felony charges according to court records.

On January 6, Larell Watkins, aka “90-Ls”, 22, pled guilty to one count of racketeering conspiracy involving murder and one count of conspiracy to distribute marijuana. He was facing a maximum possible sentence of life in prison.
