Upstate New York man sentenced to 5 years in prison for lying to grand jury

A man who lied to a federal grand jury about a murder that he witnessed was sentenced to 60 months in prison and 3 years of supervised release on November 6, 2020. 

Demetrius “Little D” Lowry, 25, of Buffalo, NY, pled guilty to obstruction of justice in October 2019. His sentencing was delayed due to Covid-19.

Shanna Smith pleads guilty to lying to grand jury

A woman who lied to a federal grand jury about her cousin’s involvement in two homicides in Buffalo, New York, has pleaded guilty to making false declarations before a grand jury and obstruction of justice, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Shanna Smith, 25, of Buffalo, apparently lied to the grand jury to protect her cousin Dalvon Curry from criminal prosecution. She is scheduled to be sentenced on October 16, 2020.

CBL/BFL enforcer pleads guilty to racketeering conspiracy involving murder

An enforcer for a Buffalo street gang who was involved in several shootings, a murder, and drug crimes has pleaded guilty to two felony charges according to court records.

On January 6, Larell Watkins, aka “90-Ls”, 22, pled guilty to one count of racketeering conspiracy involving murder and one count of conspiracy to distribute marijuana. He was facing a maximum possible sentence of life in prison.

CBL/BFL gang member pleads guilty to racketeering and drug charges

A long-time member of a violent street gang that sold drugs in Buffalo, New York, has pleaded guilty to two felony charges according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Shawn Woods, aka “Pif”, 28, pled guilty to one count of racketeering conspiracy and one count of possession of 400 grams or more of fentanyl with intent to distribute on December 13.

Woods had been facing a possible sentence of up to life in prison.

Witness pleads guilty to lying to grand jury about a murder

A Buffalo man accused of lying to a grand jury about a murder he witnessed has pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. 

Demetrius “Little D” Lowry, 24, was indicted in May for lying to a grand jury about the murder of his cousin Jaquan Sullivan.

Sullivan was shot and killed in front of Lowry’s house on Parkdale Avenue in Buffalo on the evening of December 5, 2015.
